Chirag Midha
Hi, I’m Chirag — a game designer with a background in programming, 3D modeling, and music. I’ve led collaborative teams on everything from psychological horror to high-score arcade games, and I’ve built internal tools during my time at Rockstar Games. I love shaping mechanics, solving design problems, and creating meaningful and immersive experiences. I wish to push the industry forward with my creative and technical skills and hopefully make a meaningful impact on the industry overall, long-term.
Ufo Island is an open-world game with puzzles and exploration as the main focus. It is inspired by games like Portal and The Witness. The game focuses on being an immersive puzzle game in an open-world setting by having multiple valid solutions integrated into the environment. It balances freedom for the player to explore and restrictions to guide the exploration and keep the puzzles challenging.
Red Trails is a game about a baby Red Panda trying to reunite with its mother and finding its way in a desolate environment. The main objective is climbing the last surviving tree and hopefully escape this bleak situation. It's developed by a team of 8 people, including 4 designers, 2 programmers and 2 animators, as a group project for my Master's in Game Design, and I worked as the lead designer and the level designer on this project.
Lucky Shot is a top-down shooter, made for GMTK Game Jam 2022 within 48 hours. It's based on the Jam's theme of the Jam was Roll of The Dice, where every 10 seconds a new weapon is assigned. The game consists of 6 weapons and 3 enemy types with a gradual difficulty curve that scales enemy speed, spawn rate and aggression towards the player.
After 9 is a game about an employee breaking a seemingly mundane rule of not staying past 9 pm in his office and discovering hidden cult-like activities going on behind the scenes. The game is developed by 5 designers for my Master's course with the theme "Beneath the Surface", and I worked as lead designer, puzzle designer and sole programmer for this project.
Nuclear Meltdown is a top-down high-score-based game developed for Kingston University inKUbator 2025 Game Jam. The game is about balancing various automated systems by playing minigames and preventing a nuclear meltdown. The jam's theme was "Automation Hell" and is well integrated into the game via it's chaotic nature and various minigames.
While in college I was sub-coordinator of our Computer Graphics club. I helped bring game development to the club and taught Unity to various junior members. Within my first year in the club I helped making an animated video based on famous tv-show Game of Thrones of our college.
